Beauregard's Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Dog Cookies

I made these for my dog's one year adoptaversary! I even dropped off some at the vet so that other dogs could also enjoy some yummy homemade treats. Make these for your dog's special day or just as an "I love you" gift for your pooch.
Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Pure Pumpkin Puree
  • ½ Cup Natural Peanut Butter
  • 3 Eggs
  • 3 to 3 ½ Cups Whole Wheat Flour

Instructions

  • Pre-heat oven to 350°.
  • In a mixer bowl, using the paddle attachment, mix the pumpkin, peanut butter and eggs together until combined. Scrape the bowl and mix again until incorperated.
  • Add in the 3 ¼ cups of the whole wheat flour and stir until combined. Touch the dough and see if it is sticky. If it is sticky, add in the additional ¼ cup of flour. Stir until all of the flour is incorperated. If your dough continues to be sticky, you may add an additional ¼ cup until it's no longer sticky.
  • On a floured surface, roll the dough out until a ¼ inch thick. Cut the dough into your desired shape, and place on a parchment covered sheet pan. Bake until done (about 20 to 25 minutes). Please see notes for additional baking time information.

Notes

Notes on baking time: My cookies were quite large and took about 22 minutes to bake. I baked mine so that they would be softer for my dog, as he doesn't really chew his food that well. If you want them a little crispier, bake them a little longer. If you make smaller cookies, try baking them between 10 and 15 minutes.
