About Me

Hiya!

My name is Angelique, and I’m a pastry chef.

I graduated from Newbury College, which was right outside of Boston. I have a Bachelors of Science in Culinary Management and an Associates of Science in Baking and Pastry Arts. In my career so far, I have been a bakery manager, a head pastry chef, and more recently, a pastry chef instructor. So what does all that mean? I’m a food lover. End of story.

I grew up on a tiny island off of the coast of Maine, where my family has lived for generations. While I do miss the ease of living in Boston, I love Maine and all she has to offer. I want to share recipes that have roots in New England, and of course, my beautiful state. I have a passion for seasonal ingredients, and I love to use things that are in season to create new recipes or revamp family favorites.

My second passion in life is teaching. I currently work at a local college, teaching the next generation of chefs skills that include, but are not limited to: how to temper chocolate, how to make ice cream, and how to make a beautiful three tier wedding cake complete with fondant and buttercream roses. I also teach at a local company called Bravo Maine in Portland and at The Green Ladle in Lewiston. I love being able to impart my knowledge to others, which is one of of the main reasons I started this blog.

Honestly, what I think is the most important thing to know about me is that I’m quirky, I love a good pun, and I run around dancing to the beat of my own drum.

Thank you for coming to my page and getting to know me a little better.
